Renowned Ghanaian actress and film producer, Yvonne Nelson, has joined the ranks of organisations and individuals advocating against abortion in the country.
In her memoir, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ the actress candidly shared her personal experience of aborting a pregnancy involving Sarkodie, and has since expressed regret on countless occasions.
She is now using her platform to encourage young women to embrace their pregnancies, irrespective of their circumstances.
Yvonne Nelson’s stance was evident in her response to an online article published byon X, with the caption, “Jackline Mensah: TikToker sparks pregnancy rumours after posting new video showing big belly.”
Under the post, Yvonne commented, “Proud of her (love emoji) glad she kept the baby. SAY NO TO ABORTION.” This statement by Yvonne has sparked a diversity of reactions among her followers on X.
While some of her followers praised her advocacy efforts, others speculated that it could be a strategic move to promote her upcoming movie titled ‘Tripping,’ set to premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas this Easter, where Jackline is featured as the main cast.
