Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, a Governance lecturer at the Central University, has admonished the Electoral Commission to be wary about their activities, especially with committing errors in their computation and collation of figures.
The Electoral Commission has come under intense criticisms for failing to accurately tabulate the number of registrants on the Day 2 and 3 of the ongoing limited registration exercise.
The EC has however apologized for their mistake saying “the Electoral Commission has corrected errors in the previously released daily voter registration numbers. The inaccuracies were in the cummulative totals for days two and three, though the regional numbers were correct. The Upper East’s day three’s total was mistakenly repeated for day four. These have been amended”.
Joining a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", Dr. Otchere-Ankrah slammed the EC wondering why they keep recording errors.
According to him, although to err is human, it is however incumbent on the Commission to do a thorough work to avoid mistakes that will generate conflict.
"Some of the errors you commit are unpardonable...Though you are humans and can make mistakes but there are some mistakes that you do which cannot be understood. You have to be extremely careful!", the lecturer advised.Ameyaw Adu Gyamfi/
