Ambulance Case Ato Forson Petitions Chief Justice for Live Broadcast

The Minority leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has petitioned the Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo for a live broadcast of the ongoing Ambulance trial.
This was contained in a letter from his lawyers to the Chief Justice on Thursday, May 30.
The request follows the recent allegations made by the third accused in the case, Richard Jakpa against the Attorney-General, Godfred Yebaoh Dame.
It will be recalled that, on Thursday, May 23, while undergoing cross examination, the third accused alleged that, the Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame had engaged him to provide false testimony against the Minority leader in the ongoing trial.
"We write to formally request the live broadcast of all subsequent court proceedings in the case of Republic vs. Cassiel Ato Forson & 2 Ors (Case No: CR/0198/2022). This request is made on behalf of our Client in the light of recent developments that have significantly impacted public perception of the case and the administration of justice," the petition stated.
Following the development, Dr Ato Forson believes that, a live broadcast of the trial will ensure transparency and accountability in order to advance the course of justice.
