Hon Krapa Tours TOR And Sentuo Oil Refineries

The Minister of Energy, Hon. Herbert Krapa has paid a working visit to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Sentuo Oil Refinery to get acquainted with the organizations’ operations.
At TOR, the Minister, who was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Energy and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), regulators of the petroleum downstream sector, met with the Managing Director, Mr. Kofi Mocumbi Tagoe and his management team and was briefed on the organization’s situation and also discussed government’s plans.
In his remarks, he noted during a meeting that his visit to TOR tells the significant interest that the President have in the organization and the need for the refinery to work again, hence disclosed government’s plans ahead of an extensive tour of the facility.
“TOR is a strategic national asset and urgently needs a strategic partner to get back on its feet”, he said.
Hon. Krapa announced a three-month timeline to revive the plant and an immediate resuscitation of TOR by government.
At Sentuo Oil Refinery, also in Tema, the Minister held a brief meeting with organization’s Chairman, Mr. Xu Ningquan and the management.
He also received a briefing on the organization and further went on a tour of the facilities.
He welcomed the organization’s decision to invest in Ghana and charged both TOR and Sentuo to work in partnership for the growth of both refineries.
