FLASHBACK Mahamas Year long Fuel Shortage Plunging Ghana Into Major Crises Resurfaces

With former President John Mahama intensifying his campaign to be elected President again, many Ghanaians can't forget the frustrations and setbacks they fell into under his government from 2012 to 2017.

In 2014, Ghana experienced a frustrating nationwide fuel shortage with Accra having the greatest hit while the citizenry were struggling with an endless energy crisis.

A video of the year-long fuel shortage crisis during Mahama's regime have surfaced bringing into the minds of Ghanaians their unforgettably trying times that were visited upon them by Ex-President Mahama.

The video posted across the media, particularly in a publication on Graphic Online in 2014, showed frustrated drivers in long queues at filling stations in search of non-existent fuel.

The crisis was so severe that both drivers and domestic users of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) had to hop from one fuel station to the other, queuing up for hours or the entire day, hoping to get fuel.

The fuel shortage first hit the Mahama administration after he took over from the late President Evans Atta Mills in 2012 and later, in 2014, a full-blown crisis emerged.
