Defeated National Youth Organizer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Yaw Brogya Genfi has withdrawn his interim injunction against George Opare Addo.
Mr Brogya Genfi secured the interim injunction at the Amasaman High Court on Friday, December 17, citing not only the re-elected Opare Addo but also the Congress Planning Committee Chairman of the NDC, Alex Segbefia, the Acting Director of Elections, Daniel Amartey, the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) and the party itself.
He prayed the High Court to restrain the National Youth Organiser, popularly known as Pablo, from holding himself as duly elected.
Mr Brogya Genfi, a former Ashanti Region Youth Organiser, lost by 25 votes to Pablo in a hot contest at the 10th Youth and Women's Conference held at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
Despite the suit, the re-elected Opare Addo was sworn in on Sunday morning after the 10th National Delegates'Congress was held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to party officials, no application had come to their notice when the swearing-in was done.
The withdrawal of the injunction is said to have followed the intervention of former President John Dramani Mahama.
