NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has clapped back at his main presidential contender, John Dramani Mahama, over the latter’s statements that “Ghana is bleeding, and its soul is crying for alter”.
Ex-President John Mahama, flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, delivering a speech during his party’s 2024 Manifesto Launch on Saturday, August 24, said; “Tomorrow, we take the first step towards resetting our dear nation Ghana. We face obstacles that have held us back for too long but now it’s time to build the Ghana we all want togetherhellip;Tomorrow, we commence the journey together.”
In Dr. Bawumia’s engagement with media practitioners on Sunday, August 25, he replied that Ghana doesn’t need a reset as suggested by Mahama, but rather newer ideas contained in his manifesto to move the economy forward.
To him, his policies are those that will accelerate Ghana’s development.
“What this country needs is an upgrade, not reset. And if given the mandate, I will roll out the measures outlined in our recently launched manifesto to revamp the economy.
“Sometimes I get amazed when former president Mahama talks about economic mismanagement. He should know his own record”, he said.
He urged Ghanaians to opt for him to win the December presidential elections stating “I represent the future, and Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset”.
