Kwasi Abankwa Appointed Deputy Director General Operations Of Ghana TVET Service

Mr. Kwasi Abankwa, often referred to as Colonel Abankwa in political circles, is a prominent Strategist and Business Development Expert with extensive experience in Management and International Relations. He plays a crucial role in enhancing organizational performance and building strategic partnerships.

He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management & Consulting from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & innovation (KNUST) and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography & Resource Development from the University of Ghana, Legon. A graduate of Opoku Ware Senior High School, Mr. Abankwa is also affiliated with the London Institute of Management, reflecting his dedication to global management standards.

Mr. Abankwa's career includes serving as a District Administrator and later considered for the position of Regional Human Resource Officer in the Forest Services Division of the Forestry Commission of Ghana. He joined the Ministry of Education in 2021 as Spokesperson and later advanced to Head of Corporate & International Affairs. In this role, he successfully facilitated countless agreements and understandings with Educational Ministries of countries including Hungary, Austria, Colombia, Russia, South Africa, Angola, Kenya, and Namibia. He also represented the Ministry on various international platforms in countries such as Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Qatar, and Ethiopia, significantly enhancing its global presence and fostering strategic relationships.

In support of Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum (Minister for Education & MP for Bosomtwe)'s vision of developing engineers from Ghana's rural and inner-city areas, Mr. Abankwa was instrumental in developing the Rural Engineering Scholarship Program. This initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Bulk Oil Storage & Transportation Co. Ltd, and several corporate sponsors, is providing a thorough supportmdash;including tuition, accommodation, and learning materialsmdash;for 52 marginalized youth who are now pursuing their dream engineering programin the Universityof Mines & innovation, Tarkwa (UMAT). The program also assures a National Service placements to institutions relevant to the studies of these beneficiaries, aiming to enhance their educational and professional opportunities.

Currently, Mr. Abankwa serves as a Governing Council member of the University for Development Studies in Tamale, contributing to the strategic direction and governance of this university, known for its focus on development-oriented programs to address obstacles in Northern Ghana.

Mr. Abankwa, a devoted Christian from Jamasi in the Ashanti Region, is a family man and the father of Andrea Nyarko Abankwa (Nhyira) and Davina Serwaa Abankwa (Obaa Sima).
