Ghana coach Otto Addo has finally opened up on how he felt after losing 2-0 to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Black Stars were hoping to return to winning ways after losing to Angola and drawing with Niger.
However, in the first leg of the doubleheader, Ghana were held to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium before losing 2-0 in the return leg in Libya
Speaking to the Ghana FA media, the 45-year-old revealed that the defeat affected him personally, but he credits the support of family and friends for helping him regain his focus.
Addo also shared how emotionally challenging the past days have been but stated the positive role that feedback from family and friends has played in lifting his spirits.
“To be honest I was like, the last two days I was dead but now I got a lot of positive feedback also and a lot of support from family and friends and this is the time where I need them and also I think all the players, all the team needs it and this brought me back on track,” Addo said.
The loss to Sudan has left Ghana in a precarious situation with just two points after four games.
Black Stars must now win against Angola and Niger in their final group games in November and hope for Sudan to drop points if they are to secure a spot in the tournament.
