The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has alleged that the standoff in Parliament is part of a broader tactic by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to convince voters as part of their campaign message for Election 2024.
At a press conference in Accra Wednesday, the NPP alleged that what the NDC was exhibiting in Parliament with the standoff is part of a broader tactic outlined in a document titled “Winning the 2024 Elections and Beyond: A thorough NDC tactic.”
The NPP’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah who addressed the press conference said the NDC was leveraging on their numbers in Parliament to interrupt government business.
He accused the NDC of working closely with Speaker Alban Bagbin to intentionally frustrate the government’s legislative agenda.
Mr Ahiagbah claimed the NDC has been executing this plan since 2021 and creating parliamentary gridlock and derailing essential government business, all as part of their electoral tactic for 2024.graphiconline
