NDC Raises Concerns Over ECs Contract With YASARKO

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised concerns regarding the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to contract YASARKO for printing materials for the upcoming elections.
The party’s “Eagle Eyes” initiative, aimed at monitoring the ballot printing process, has encountered significant issues with YASARKO’s performance.
Dr Edward Omane Boamah, NDC’s Director of Elections and IT, in a Facebook post, expressed scepticism about the EC’s vetting process for YASARKO, alleging that the organization has failed to meet its obligations consistently, leading to frustration among NDC agents who are monitoring the situation 24/7.
He pointed out that the repeated “excuses” from YASARKO raise questions about the organization’s competence and the legitimacy of the contract award.
The NDC’s agents suspect that YASARKO may have intended to print ballot papers offsite, a move that could jeopardize the integrity of the electoral materials.
Furthermore, the team has reported cases of excess ballots being printed, prompting them to secure an agreement with printing companies to ensure accountability for any surplus before disposal.
