Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin says he will never abdicate his majority seat to the Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs boycotted the House on Thursday, November 7, when Parliament reconvened resulting in the Speaker suspending the House indefinitely again.
The NPP MPs refused to be in their chamber for the second time because the Minority had re-occupied their seats.
Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show, Afenyo-Markin stated emphatically that nothing will make him cede his position in Parliament.
"I will never go and sit there. Never!", he exclaimed.
He delineated the significance of the sitting positions in Parliament stating "it has a symbolic significance to be in majority to sit to the right. That is the practice and convention. Majority doesn't sit to the left of Speaker".
"If seating does not matter, why have they moved from their seats to ours?", he questioned.
He admonished the Speaker to "order them to go and sit at their rightful place. They sit to his left".
"Enough of the conspiracy!", he slammed Speaker, Alban Bagbin.
