The Vice Presidential Candidate of the governing NPP, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has assured the good people of Larabanga and Ghanaians in general, that, the next NPP government under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will prioritize investments in the tourism industry to make Ghana the tourism hub of Africa.
Speaking at a campaign rally at Larabanga, a suburb of Damongo in the Savanna Region, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, Dr. Prempeh acknowledged that the area is endowed with many tourist sites, including the ancient Larabanga Mosque and the Mole National Park, among others, and assured them of developing these sites.
“I am aware that this area has a lot of tourist attractions.. the famous Larabanga Mosque and the Mole National Park. I assure you that the government of Dr. Bawumia will pump in the essential resources to develop these sites and other equally significant tourist sites in the country into world-class tourist attractions”.
According to him, to attract foreign tourists and further boost tourism for socioeconomic gains, the government will not only develop all our tourist sites but will also streamline the visa acquisition regime by introducing an e-visa policy for all international visitors to Ghana.
Dr. Prempeh also added that the government will introduce a flat tax rate to incentivize the private sector to increase its investment in tourism and creative arts facilities. According to him, the successful implementation of these interventions will ultimately make Ghana the tourism hub of Africa.
He appealed to the people of Larabanga and by extension the constituents of Damongo to re-elect Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor as their Member of Parliament, to persist his good works in developing the constituency and beyond.King Edward Ambrose Washman/
