Independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen has exuded confidence about his chances in Ghana's December 7, 2024 general elections, asserting that divine favor and voter sentiment will lead him to victory.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on Monday, May 18, 2024, Kyerematen dismissed recent opinion polls that placed him fourth, indicating that they do not represent the true political climate.
“If you go to the grounds and see what’s happening, you’ll realize the opinion polls are insignificant.
“They don’t reflect the reality on the ground. They sit in their rooms and conduct these polls, which doesn’t make sense,” Kyerematen stated.
He emphasized that many Ghanaians are eager for alter, signaling their readiness to move away from the dominance of the NPP and NDC.
“Eight out of ten Ghanaians want alter, so how can you tell me the opinion polls are correct? Alan is the only candidate representing this alter,” he said.
Kyerematen also predicted a decisive victory, saying, “God has already chosen the president, and the anointed one is anointed. If I don’t win in the first round, I will win in the second. It’s either a one-touch or second-round victory.”
He predicts a significant "skirt and blouse" voting pattern, where voters would support parliamentary candidates from established parties but choose him as their president.
“Most voters are ready to vote for parliamentary aspirants on a party basis, but for the presidency, they are going to vote for me,” he asserted. “We’re going to experience skirt and blouse voting patterns in the December polls.”
