In just about five days to the crucial December 7 Presidential and parliamentary elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the discovery of some shortfalls in the Presidential and parliamentary ballot papers in Hohoe, Ho Central, Ketu North, Ho West and Keta constituencies, all in the Volta region of Ghana.
The EC, in a letter to all representatives of Presidential candidates, have disclosed measures to address the issues by printing additional ballot papers to make up for the shortfalls at Acts Commercials.
The EC has admonished Political parties and independent presidential candidates to delegate two representatives each to observe the printing process.
The designated delegates are required to be at Acts Commercial Printing House in Accra on Friday, 29th November, 2024.
This communique from the EC was signed by Mr. Samuel Tettey, the EC’s Deputy Chairman of Operations, who has also assured the public of the Commission’s commitment to transparency and accuracy in the electoral process.
He emphasised that the EC is working diligently to resolve the issue and ensure a smooth and credible election.Kobina Darlington/
