Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah has joined Al-Ouwa Al-Jawiya in Iraq until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old has been without a club after his time with Saudi Arabian side Al-Batin FC ended in the summer of 2022. He played only eight times for the club and failed to extend his stay.
The former Torino player will have the option to extend his contract based on his performance for his new club.
Acquah was a key player for a number of Serie A sides including Empoli, Sampdoria and Parma.
He made his highest club appearances with Torino where he scored six and assisted an extra five in a total of 79 matches.
His performance made him a regular player in the Black Stars until he left the Italian League to play in Asia.
He has earned 42 caps for the senior national team and is hoping to revive his career for more.
