Vocal gem Sista Afia has expressed concern over the lack of music collaborations among Ghanaian female artists.
According to the award-winning musician, their male counterparts do a great job of featuring each other and can even do multi-artist collaborations.
But this scenario, she said, was very rare among female artists, urging them to come together to form a united front so they would become a strong force in the music industry.
Sista Afia stated in an interview during a media tour that she has featured several female artists over the past few years and wants others to do the same.
"I can understand the challenges that confront female musicians when they want to pursue a certain course, especially when signed to a record label.
"Many things are often decided without our knowledge, but I think it is time for us to have a say in how things go.
"There should be more collaborations among ourselves so that it would foster unity and make us a stronger force in the music industry," she said.
Sista Afia added that she had always yearned to work with the likes of Becca, Akosua Agyapong, and Efya, among others, so we could showcase the enormous talent female musicians possess.
Sista Afia is currently promoting her new single "Carry Go," which is being accompanied by some entrancing visuals available on YouTube.
