Brazil has taken a flip to the left as former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva beat far-right incumbent Jair Bolsonaro within the presidential election.
After a divisive marketing campaign which noticed two bitter rivals on reverse sides of the political spectrum go face to face, Lula received 50.9% of the votes.
