She had high hopes of winning this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the year and although gospel singer Piesie Esther lost it to Black Sherif she says she is not disappointed she lost because Black Sherif also worked hard in the year under review.
According to the Waye Meyie singer, all the eight artists who made it to the Artist of the Year category deserved it because they equally lived up to the mark.
“I won't lie Black Sherif and all the other artists who made there worked harder and it could have gone for any of us. Although the competition was tough between me and Black Sheriff he won and I want to congratulate him on winning the ultimate” she told Graphic Showbiz.
Asked whether she was pleased with the awards she won on the night, Piesie Esther who won Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Artist said she was more than pleased having won these two awards for the first time in 20 years.
“I have been doing music for the past 20 years and I have not had any of these awards so winning big today is an incredible thing for me and I am so excited. I am grateful. I want to thank everyone who voted for me” she said.
The 24th edition of this year's VGMA organized by Charterhouse took place at the grand arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
