The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), the Rt Rev. Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, has cautioned the government to attempt to spend inside its means.
That, he stated, was mandatory, given the prevailing financial hardships, stressing that if the government was average in its expenditure, it might assist alleviate the plight of the nation.
“Even if we have to reduce the number of our ministers, we should,” he proposed.

The thanksgiving service climaxed the year-long actions to commemorate 100 years of the Asante Presbytery of the PCG.
It was on the theme: “100 Years of Evangelistic and Ecclesiastical Work in Asante: The Past, Present and Future”.
The Asante Presbytery was one of many first presbyteries created by the primary Synod of the Presbyterian Church held at Kyebi within the Eastern Region on July 21, 1922 to facilitate the work of the church because the variety of congregations was growing.
The others are the Ga and Dangme, Akuapem and Anum, Agona and Kotoku, in addition to Akyem and Okwawu, presbyteries.
The service attracted a sizeable illustration by congregants from all of the 31 districts below the Asante Presbytery, most of whom have been clad within the particular anniversary fabric.
