STC Chief Executive Officer, Nana Akomea has expressed worries over the current power cuts confronting Ghanaians.
Although the government has refused to acknowledge the situation as 'dumsor', Nana Akomea, addressing the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' show Tuesday morning, kept referring to the current problem as 'dumsor' and called on the authorities to treat the problem with urgency.
He warned the electricity suppliers against the impact of the electricity problem on the government, stressing this is an electioneering year and the persistent cut of power will gravely affect the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the impending December elections.
"If we don't resolve the problem early, all the seven years that our lights stayed on will go waste. This year is also an election year and if we don't do it early, it will go against the government . . . we have to let Ghanaians know why this dumsor is happening, whether it is a financial test or something else, and the government must find ways to address it," he warned while calling on the Electricity organization of Ghana to swiftly resolve the test.
