Renowned journalist and host of Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Kwami Sefa Kayi, has expressed dismay over the current state of the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
He expressed that if the state-owned news agency, which was established by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, received significant funding, it would have the potential to achieve the same level of influence and reach as Reuters, one of the world's leading news agencies.
"It pains me that we've not paid much attention to GNA; it should've been our Reuters or CNN..." he said on the Sports segment of his show.

Meanwhile, the Management of the GNA has appealed to the Government to invest in the Agency to function as a contemporary multimedia news agency.
The agency cited outdated equipment and vehicles, delayed release of funds, and logistical constraints as the primary obstacles affecting its operations.
